U.S.-Iran Peace Agreement Signed

The United States and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding to end the war, according to a U. S. official. President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed the document on Wednesday.

Vice President JD Vance and Iran's chief negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf had signed it digitally on Sunday, with Trump as a witness. The 14-point agreement establishes an immediate and permanent ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon, and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

It also initiates 60 days of negotiations on Iran's nuclear program, the lifting of sanctions, and a $300 billion U. S. -backed reconstruction plan. Iran reiterates that it will never produce a nuclear weapon.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei warned that continued Israeli attacks on Lebanon would be considered a breach of the U. S. commitment.
